Health & Safety

Employers must provide information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure the health and safety at work of their employees. In certain situations, health and safety training is particularly important, e.g. when people start work, on exposure to new or increased risks and where existing skills may have become rusty or need updating.

1. 

Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with a basic introduction to health and safety in the workplace, including the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.​

Intended Audience

​

The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace has been designed for all employees working in different types of environments to help raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.

​

Course Overview

​

During this half day course, Learners will develop a basic knowledge of health and safety issues such as: hazards and risks in the workplace, workplace conditions that can affect health and safety, and the requirements for workplace procedures. 

​

Assessment Methods

​

1 x 15 Multiple Choice Question Paper (Theory assessment) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their awareness of health and safety, including the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.​

Intended Audience

​

The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is ideal for all employees to raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.

​

Course Overview

​

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop a greater understanding of health and safety issues, including: health and safety laws, risk assessments and risk control hierarchy, identifying and controlling risks from common workplace hazards and more. ​

​

Assessment Methods

​

1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

3. 

Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to develop Learners’ knowledge of COSHH Regulations and requirements.​

​

Intended Audience

​

The Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH is ideal for all employees, and specifically those who wish to work in an environment with hazardous substances, such as: healthcare, manufacturing, cleaning, transport, utilities and office environments.

​

Course Overview

​

During this half day course, Learners will develop their understanding of the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace and the precautions and procedures required to ensure hazardous substances are properly controlled, as well as learn how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances.​

​

​

1 x 15 Multiple Choice Question Paper (Theory assessment) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

4. 

Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification is designed to help Learners develop a more advanced knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace.​

​

Intended Audience

​

The Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is ideal for those who are aspiring to, or are presently working at a supervisory or management level and wish to enhance their health and safety knowledge.

​

Course Overview

​

During this course, Learners will cover a range of health and safety topics, including: understanding the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace, legal requirements, the benefits of using a health and safety system and understanding the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards. ​​

​

Assessment Methods

​

1 x 60 Multiple Choice Question Paper (Theory Assessment) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.
