Fire Safety
Employers must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and ensure safe escape for both employees and visitors. They must:

Ensure all employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time they are first employed and on being exposed to new and increased risks.

Appoint one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace, and provide them with sufficient training to remain effective in reducing the risks from fire hazards.
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their fire safety awareness to help ensure that they are keeping themselves and others safe at all times in the workplace.

Intended Audience
The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness qualification is designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace.

Course Overview
Over a half day period, Learners will learn basic fire safety principles, including causes of fires in the workplace, basic fire safety duties and responsibilities, principles of fire risk control, safe use of portable fire-fighting equipment and more.

Assessment Methods
1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

Level 2 Award in Fire Safety
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification allows Learners to build an understanding of fire safety management and the specific roles and responsibilities related to fire safety in the workplace.

Intended Audience
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety qualification has been designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals.

Course Overview
During this 1 day course, Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in fire safety, including: how fires are caused, the risks associated with fire, principles of fire safety management at work, understanding the role of a fire warden and more.
